Our Ethos

At Little Squirrel Forest School we are advocates for nature based learning and exploration, as well as mental health & wellbeing. We take pride in creating an engaging and inclusive programme for all children to access and enjoy. We aim to reconnect children with nature, and with themselves, enabling them to build their resilience and empowering them to cope with an ever-changing future.

Our sessions provide a range of opportunities for children to develop emotionally and holistically. Forest School encourages child-led achievable experiences and develops an important sense of community for its members. Forest School also facilitates each child’s interaction with the natural world in a positive and magical way where they can learn to manage their own emotions in response to challenges and perceived risks. Sessions are delivered by qualified teachers and practitioners and include environmental impact assessments and risk benefit analysis’.
